Problematic Sexualized Behaviors Risk Assessment

Oceanside’s Problematic Sexualized Behavior Risk Assessment provides a comprehensive review of not only the history of sexually problematic behavior but also personal and contextual factors that contributed to, or in some other way influenced, the problematic sexual behavior.

The assessment will offer a description of the development of problematic sexualized behaviors and contributing factors to the offenses, identify key contributors/causes including motivation and describe trajectory absent of intervention, as well as youth’s likely response to specific types of treatment, diagnosis and recommendations.

As we know, concerns about risk for reoffending and continued sexually problematic behavior are not based upon any single factor or group of factors. Instead, the prognosis is based upon a thorough clinical assessment, by trained clinicians, that reviews multiple details of the youth’s life, providing a basis for understanding risk and protective factors, using specific evidenced-based protocols.

Those include The Juvenile Sex Offender Assessment Protocol-II (J-SOAP-II), whose purpose is to aid in the systematic review of risk factors that have been identified as being associated with sexual and criminal offending and the SAPROF – Youth Version (SAPROF-YV), a tool intended for the identification of protective factors and to offer guidelines for setting positive treatment goals, and evaluating progress in treatment.

If we can assist in juvenile cases involving problematic sexualized behaviors, please fill out our referral form (attached). You can email it back to me directly or fax it back (207-571-9927)
